This weeks Test of the Week is more a question of emotion. I love pretty pictures too!
I was torn between the two versions and decided to first analyse. Then to choose. Based on the heatmaps (below) I went for version B.

Revealing in this Heatmap analysis is how much more visible the text is with a picture in the background. Notice how the logo stands out differently in both versions and that FREE stands out more in version A even though FREE (bold) is used in the other version.
Both versions use pictures, in this case emotion won for me.
